Brand Identity Designer — NIBBO

Project overview

Northwold Foods Ltd is preparing to launch NIBBO, a bold and playful UK snack brand, beginning with a range of four 75 g popcorn flavours.

We already have a logo, colour direction, typography style, tagline and initial packaging concepts that we like. We are not looking for a complete rebrand. We need a designer to professionally refine, standardise and prepare the existing identity for use across packaging, websites, e-commerce, social media and printed materials.

This is a clearly defined, fixed-price project. The successful designer may also be considered for future NIBBO design work.

Existing brand direction

The existing identity includes:

* NIBBO as the consumer-facing master brand.
* Northwold Foods Ltd as the legal company and manufacturer.
* A bold, colourful and approachable personality.
* A distinctive NIBBO wordmark with a highlighted “B”.
* The tagline: “Go on, ’ave a Nibbo.”
* A navy and yellow core identity.
* Blue, green, purple and orange flavour variations.
* Bold typography and playful graphic elements.
* An identity capable of expanding beyond popcorn into other snack categories.

The selected designer will receive our existing logo files, packaging concepts, colour references and other available artwork.

Scope of work
1. Existing identity review

* Review the current logo, colours, typography and visual direction.
* Identify inconsistencies or technical weaknesses.
* Recommend practical refinements.
* Preserve the recognisable character of the existing NIBBO identity.
* Avoid unnecessary reinvention of the logo or brand concept.

2. Logo refinement

* Clean and professionally redraw the existing NIBBO logo where necessary.
* Retain the highlighted “B”.
* Improve spacing, alignment, proportions and legibility.
* Create versions suitable for print and digital use.
* Establish minimum size and clear-space rules.
* Ensure the logo works on light, dark, coloured and photographic backgrounds.

Required variations:

* Primary full-colour logo.
* Reversed/light logo.
* Single-colour logo.
* Black logo.
* White logo.
* Compact or simplified brand mark.
* Favicon/profile-image version.
* Version with the tagline.
* Version without the tagline.

This project does not require several entirely new logo concepts unless the designer identifies a serious usability issue and discusses it with us first.

3. Colour system

Refine and document:

* Primary brand colours.
* Secondary colours.
* Neutral/background colours.
* Flavour-specific colours.
* Accessible digital colour combinations.
* Approved logo/background combinations.

Provide the appropriate:

* HEX values.
* RGB values.
* CMYK values.
* Pantone references where appropriate.

The initial four flavours are:

1. White Cheddar.
2. Cheddar & Jalapeño.
3. Sour Cream & Chive.
4. Rosemary & Garlic.

The colour system must allow additional flavours and future NIBBO snack ranges to be introduced consistently.

4. Typography system

Review and formalise the existing typography direction.

Define:

* Primary display/headline typeface.
* Secondary or body typeface.
* Digital-safe alternatives.
* Heading hierarchy.
* Body-copy hierarchy.
* Suggested packaging hierarchy.
* Rules for capitalisation, spacing and emphasis.
* Font licensing requirements.

Any recommended fonts should be commercially usable. Free or reasonably licensed fonts are preferred.

5. Supporting visual style

Define a practical visual language covering:

* Graphic shapes.
* Patterns.
* Borders and backgrounds.
* Illustration style.
* Icon style.
* Product photography direction.
* Image treatment.
* Social-media graphics.
* Use of flavour colours.
* Appropriate and inappropriate brand applications.

The designer is not required to produce complete packaging, website or social-media campaigns during this stage.

6. Brand architecture

Provide simple guidance showing how to present:

* NIBBO as the consumer snack brand.
* “Popcorn” as the product-category descriptor.
* Each flavour as an individual product.
* Northwold Foods Ltd as the manufacturer/legal entity.
* Future NIBBO snack categories.

The brand should be presented as NIBBO, not “Nibbo’s Popcorn”.

7. Brand guidelines

Produce a concise, practical brand-guidelines document covering:

* Brand overview and personality.
* Logo variations.
* Logo clear space.
* Minimum logo sizes.
* Correct and incorrect logo use.
* Colour palette.
* Flavour-colour system.
* Typography.
* Tagline use.
* Graphic and imagery style.
* Brand architecture.
* Example digital and print applications.
* File and asset reference.

The guidelines do not need to be unnecessarily long. They need to be clear enough for packaging designers, website designers, developers, printers and marketing freelancers to follow.

Required deliverables

The final handover must include:

* Editable vector logo artwork.
* Adobe Illustrator, Affinity Designer or equivalent source files.
* SVG files.
* EPS files.
* Print-ready PDF files.
* Transparent PNG files.
* JPG files.
* Colour and monochrome versions.
* Light- and dark-background versions.
* Favicon and profile-image assets.
* Full colour specifications.
* Typography specifications.
* Font names and licensing information.
* Concise brand-guidelines PDF.
* Organised asset folders.
* All final source files.

Files should be clearly named and organised so they can be handed directly to our packaging designer, UI/UX designer and website developer.

Ownership and originality

* Final approved work and editable source files must belong to Northwold Foods Ltd upon full payment.
* The designer must have the right to use or transfer every included element.
* Unlicensed stock graphics, copied logos and unauthorised typefaces must not be used.
* Any third-party licensing requirements must be declared before work begins.
* The designer may only display the project publicly with our written permission.

Revisions

Please include at least:

* One initial review and recommendation stage.
* One main refinement presentation.
* Two reasonable rounds of revisions.
* Final artwork preparation and handover.

Additional revisions should only be charged where they fall outside the agreed scope.
