I’m looking for an experienced Blender 3D artist to help integrate and complete an LS3 engine bay for a Land Rover Defender CGI project.
The main LS3 engine already exists as a 3D model, so the engine itself does not need to be modelled from scratch. I will provide the existing vehicle model, LS3 engine model and reference images.
The work involves:
Importing, positioning and correctly integrating the existing LS3 engine into the Defender engine bay.
Modelling the main surrounding components visible in the references, primarily:
Brake servo
A/C box
Front radiator
Any other relatively simple surrounding components needed to make the engine bay visually complete.
Adding simplified wires, hoses and cables along the bulkhead to add realism. These do not need to be mechanically accurate or fully routed — they mainly need to look convincing visually.
Making any minor geometry adjustments necessary for the LS3 to fit naturally within the existing engine bay.
Creating and applying realistic materials to the engine and all newly modelled components, based on the provided references. This includes the different metals, plastics, rubber, painted surfaces, hoses, wiring, etc.
Keeping the geometry reasonably optimized and suitable for high-quality CGI renders and animation.
The goal is visual realism rather than engineering-level accuracy. The engine bay will be used for cinematic CGI renders and animations, so it needs to look convincing in close and medium shots without unnecessarily modelling details that will never be visible.
Deliverables
A clean, organized and fully editable Blender (.blend) file containing:
LS3 engine correctly positioned and integrated.
Required surrounding engine-bay components.
Wires, hoses and other relevant visible details.
Realistic materials applied to all components.
All textures properly packed/provided with the Blender project.
Clean object/material naming and organization.
Reasonably optimized geometry suitable for rendering and animation.
The final result should be ready for me to integrate into my existing rendering/animation workflow with minimal additional work.
Please include examples of previous automotive or mechanical 3D modelling and material work, particularly engines, engine bays or detailed vehicle components if available.
