I have a set of engineering technical manuals that were originally written in English and have already been translated into French. I now need a careful, bilingual eye to run a true side-by-side comparison, making sure nothing was dropped, added, or mistranslated.
Here’s what the assignment looks like from my end:
• Read each English source section, then immediately read the corresponding French translation.
• Flag inaccuracies in terminology, numerical values, units, tables, and any engineering-specific jargon.
• Note layout issues—figures, captions, or callouts that shifted positions or lost clarity during translation.
• Provide a clean, concise correction report that references page and paragraph numbers, plus any suggested fixes in track-changes or comment form.
Acceptance criteria
• Every segment of the English original has a verified counterpart in French.
• All identified issues are listed with clear, implementable remedies.
• Final report is delivered in both Word (with tracked changes) and PDF snapshot within the agreed timeline.
The manuals sit at roughly 35,000 words total. I can share sample pages right away so you can gauge the terminology depth and formatting quirks before we lock in a timeline.
If this kind of English ↔ French engineering content review is squarely in your wheelhouse, I’m ready to move forward.
