Recommend appropriate risk-based pricing and deal structure; direct, coordinate, and make recommendations for lease approvals
Conduct background investigation including bank, finance company, and trade references, and confirmation of revenue sources
Identify transactions to be funded via Beacon's portfolio or third-party funding partners, and manage a pipeline of “in credit” transactions in a timely manner
Assist in the underwriting of portfolio acquisitions and/or portfolio sales
Maintain working familiarity with Beacon's core industry assets and business borrowers
Manage and grow relationships with Beacon's syndicate bank and funding partners

Independently research and recommend asset classes, credit tools, systems, and data sources to improve underwriting and support new business generation
Analyze credit data and portfolio performance to identify underwriting trends, risks, and opportunities, and translate findings into clearly defined, implementable strategies and rules
Maintain credit standards and monitor industry regulations, requirements, trends, and competitor activity to ensure ongoing compliance
Present credit analytics findings and recommendations to senior management, and work closely with executives on credit policy and credit decisions
Effectively communicate with sales staff to facilitate deal flow, and assist in establishing payment terms and procedures with new vendor referral relationships
Collaborate with data analysts and application developers to build, fix, and enhance credit underwriting technology and reporting platforms
Foster effective teamwork across credit, sales, accounting, documentation, and collections
Provide working guidance and mentorship to junior credit analysts as needed; contribute to a positive, collaborative team environment
Participate in project management alongside cross-functional business partners on new initiatives, prioritization, and delivery
