I have a steady flow of top-grade Ethiopian Welo opals (2 – 6 cts each) that need to be mounted in pre-made 4-prong sterling-silver pendant settings. At the moment I send out about five or six stones every month, and that number is poised to rise as sales pick up, so I need a skilled bench jeweler who can take on this side work reliably and scale with me.
What matters most to me is proven experience with delicate prong work and an appreciation for how brittle hydrated opal can be. Each stone must sit level, with tight, even prongs and no abrasions or chips introduced during setting. I will ship stones and findings together; you return the finished pieces cleaned, polished, and ready for chain assembly.
When you reply, highlight your bench experience—especially any opal or other soft-stone projects—and note your usual turnaround time per batch. If you can meet the quality I need, we’ll build an ongoing relationship as volume grows.
