Beginner Structural Concepts Tutor

I want to finally make sense of the core ideas behind structural civil engineering but I’m starting almost from scratch. My math background is weak—think very shaky arithmetic and hardly any algebra—so I need someone who can rewind right to the foundations, build my confidence there, then guide me forward into the key structural topics at a steady pace.

Clear, simple video and written explanations are the format that works for me. Short recorded walk-throughs, screen-sharing on a virtual whiteboard, or problem-solving sessions I can replay later would be ideal. I’m happy to supplement the videos with any quick reference notes or practice questions you suggest, yet the spoken, visual teaching style is what will keep me engaged.

We will begin with the essential math tools I’ll rely on—fractions, equations, basic trig—before easing into how forces act on bodies, why materials behave the way they do, and how all of that feeds into real-world structural analysis. The pace should remain flexible: I prefer concept mastery over racing through a syllabus.
