I’m looking for a filmmaker who can take the Irish legend of the Banshee and turn it into a 20-40-minute psychological horror piece. I want the story to unfold on a remote family farm—no neighbours, no outsiders—so the sense of isolation grows as the scream draws closer.
Key creative notes
• Visual tone: Raw and gritty handheld or minimal-rig shooting that feels almost found-footage, not cinematic gloss.
• Practical approach: No CGI or flashy special effects. Rely on strong horror make-up, natural lighting, and smart camera work to sell the fear.
• Sound design: The Banshee’s scream is the star. It starts distant, then becomes angrier, louder, and more distorted as the danger escalates. Ambient farm sounds and everyday noises can sit beneath it, but music should stay minimal.
• Atmosphere arc: Open with calm rural scenery, build mounting tension through pacing and sound, and finish in full visceral terror.
Deliverables
1. Completed 20-40-minute film in 4K (or highest native resolution) plus a 1080p viewing copy.
2. Final mix of dialogue, diegetic sounds, and layered screams in stereo and 5.1.
3. Raw audio of the scream session, if captured live.
4. Basic promotional stills and a poster-style key image.
If you have experience shooting horror in real locations, directing practical make-up effects, and crafting spine-chilling sound, I’d love to see a brief reel or links to similar work when you apply.
