I’m refreshing the interior of a commercial bank branch and need a designer with both creative flair and a practical grasp of security-conscious environments. The brief covers three intertwined tasks: developing an efficient floor plan, curating all furniture and décor, and specifying lighting and fixture solutions that balance customer comfort with staff productivity and regulatory standards.
Space details
• Full-service branch: lobby, teller line, private offices, vault zone, ATM vestibule, conference room and back-of-house operations.
• Existing shell drawings in DWG and PDF are ready to share.
• Corporate brand guidelines and colour palette will be provided on kick-off.
Scope of work
1. Interior layout & planning
– Optimise customer flow from entrance to teller to private offices while maintaining clear sightlines for security cameras.
– Integrate accessibility requirements (ADA compliant circulation, counters, washrooms).
– Coordinate with MEP engineers where fixture placement affects HVAC or sprinklers.
2. Furniture & décor selection
– Propose furnishings that reflect a modern, trustworthy image yet withstand heavy daily traffic.
– Deliver a full schedule with manufacturer, model, finish options and lead times.
– Include reception signage, acoustic treatments and branding accents.
3. Lighting & fixture design
– Layered lighting strategy: ambient, task and accent, all on energy-efficient LED systems.
– Specify fixtures, colour temperature and control zones that comply with local codes and the bank’s sustainability targets.
– Provide reflected ceiling plans and lighting calculations (e.g., Dialux or Relux output).
Deliverables
• Concept mood boards and two initial layout concepts for review
• Finalised floor plan (AutoCAD + PDF) with furniture, power and data points marked
• 3D visualisations or SketchUp/Enscape renders of key areas
• Furniture, finish and lighting specification schedules in Excel
• Annotated reflected ceiling and lighting plans
• A concise implementation guide for the fit-out contractor
Acceptance criteria
The design must be code-compliant, align with branding, meet the agreed lighting levels, and receive written approval from our security advisor.
Timeline & collaboration
I’m looking to begin immediately, targeting concept approval within two weeks and detailed documentation within six. We will communicate through weekly video check-ins and shared cloud folders for file exchange.
If you have proven experience designing banks or similarly regulated commercial interiors and can deliver the above, let’s talk.
