Hi,
I’m looking for an experienced B2B sales / business development professional to support us on an upcoming client presentation and potentially on an ongoing basis.
We are a clinical research services company (CRO) working primarily with biotech companies. We have been shortlisted for a project with a biotechnology company that is looking to appoint a new CRO to take over an ongoing clinical trial.
The first client call is scheduled for Monday, 24 August, from 2:30 pm to 3:30 pm Melbourne, Australia time (AEST / UTC+10).
For this assignment, I’m looking for someone who is confident speaking with senior clients, can lead a structured sales conversation, ask good questions, present our value proposition clearly and professionally, and help keep the discussion commercially focused.
You do not need to have a clinical research or biotechnology background. We will provide you in advance with:
* Company background and positioning
* Client and project background
* Bid-defense presentation
* Written proposal
* Commercial/budget information
* Key messages and differentiators
* Expected questions and suggested responses
* Details of the people attending the meeting
* A briefing before the client call
Our technical/project team will be available to answer clinical or operational questions where required, so your role is primarily to help lead the client conversation from a sales and relationship-management perspective.
This is not intended to be a one-off assignment. If we work well together, we are looking for someone who can support regular biotech/CRO business-development calls, proposal presentations and bid defenses as new opportunities come through.
If this is something you would be comfortable with, please let me know:
1. Your experience with B2B sales, client presentations or pitch meetings
2. Whether you are available at the above Australian time
3. Whether you would be comfortable reviewing the materials and having a preparation call with us beforehand
4. Your rate for the initial assignment and your availability for ongoing work
Thanks, and I look forward to hearing from you.
We essentially want a very good bid defense pitch with the prospective client on behalf of our company. We will provide the full material and information about the client. We can do a mockup and want a very good sales pitcher to ideally win the bid.
So this one will be a 1 hr call on Monday 2.30 pm Melbourne time with the client. I will share the materials, PowerPoint slide deck and our company details tomorrow morning my time (will be late evening Friday your time). Once you have a chance to read about the company and understand we can sit and do a mockup with the other attendees on behalf of the company on Saturday morning your time. They will essentially be there to answer and support any specific questions about the company or systems, processes etc.
In short:
- I will provide materials.
- You will read the materials. Think of a way to pitch and talk during the client meeting.
- We do a mock up with the other attendees in the call by end of Saturday this week.
- Then you do the call with client on Monday 2:30pm Melbourne time.
Important note is that you need to represent the company and not sound or mention that you are an external sales consultant who is filling the role of presenting.
May I ask if you are a female, your age (you don’t need to mention an exact age - a bracket range is fine) and that you will be comfortable turning your camera on during the sales call (client would like to see people’s video)? Clients are mix of Australians and Japanese (Japan folks are a bit particular and they tend to judge people by their age). We generally don’t mind about the age and will certainly use your service for other bids in the future if this goes well.
