I’m looking for a skilled backend engineer to build a production-ready Python service in my Azure environment. The core task is API development: clean, well-documented endpoints that expose our business logic and data to web and mobile clients. I already have an Azure subscription and resource group waiting, so you’ll be able to focus on code, infrastructure-as-code, and automated deployment.

Here’s what I need from you:
• A modern Python 3 codebase using a framework such as FastAPI or Flask—open to your recommendation as long as it is actively maintained and async-friendly.
• Native Azure deployment: containerise the service and supply Bicep/ARM, Terraform, or equivalent scripts so the stack can be recreated in any environment.
• Unit and integration tests with pytest, tied into a CI/CD pipeline (GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps).
• Auto-generated OpenAPI/Swagger docs derived from the code.

Deliverable: a Git repository I can deploy with a single az cli command, together with a concise README covering configuration variables and endpoint usage.

Acceptance criteria:
• All endpoints return the expected JSON payloads and HTTP status codes.
• 90 %+ test coverage; all tests pass in the pipeline.
• Deployment script completes successfully without manual steps.

I’d like to see an initial working version within two weeks and I’m available for quick daily check-ins on Slack. While the first milestone focuses on the API itself, designing with future authentication or role-based access in mind will be highly valued.
