We are looking for an experienced Automotive Embedded Hardware / PCB Design Engineer to create a complete new electrical schematic in KiCad for a proprietary Driver Warning System (DWS).
The project will be developed from product requirements, system architecture, and patent-backed functional requirements.
There is no existing production schematic to modify or redesign.
Detailed proprietary product information, patent-related documents, and internal technical requirements will be provided only after NDA execution.
The project is based on an existing MDS product concept and previous hardware revision. Detailed schematics, patent-related information, BOMs, and proprietary technical files will be provided only after NDA execution.
Core system requirements include:
- Main MCU / processor
- GNSS position sensing
- Wireless communication
- 6-axis IMU / accelerometer
- Driver warning display interface
- Buzzer / audio warning output
- Status LEDs
- Emergency / acknowledgement button
- External non-volatile storage
- OTA / firmware update support
- Debug / programming interface
- Automotive 12V / 24V input support
- Vehicle-grade power protection
- Test points for key power rails and interfaces
Automotive protection must include consideration for:
- Reverse polarity
- Load dump
- Cold crank
- Surge / transient protection
- ESD
- Input filtering
- Fuse / PTC protection
- Proper grounding and power integrity
Future expansion interfaces should be considered for:
- Camera
- MEMS microphone
- ToF / LiDAR
- mmWave presence sensing
- CAN bus
- Additional occupant / safety sensors
The first prototype should remain cost-controlled. Advanced AI, camera processing, LiDAR, radar or other optional features must not be added to the base design without written approval.
Required Deliverables:
1. System block diagram
2. Power tree
3. Proposed major component list with alternatives
4. Complete editable KiCad schematic
5. Pin map
6. Interface matrix
7. Preliminary BOM with manufacturer part numbers
8. Automotive protection design
9. RF / GNSS / wireless interface notes
10. ERC-clean KiCad project
11. Test-point plan
12. Design notes and open engineering issues
IMPORTANT:
- This project is SCHEMATIC DESIGN ONLY in the first stage.
- PCB layout must NOT begin until written approval is provided.
- Do not substitute major components without written approval.
- The first milestone must be block diagram + power tree + component selection.
- Detailed proprietary files will be shared only after NDA execution.
Please apply only if you have previous hands-on experience with:
- Automotive electronics
- STM32 / Nordic / similar MCUs
- GNSS
- Wireless modules
- IMU integration
- Automotive power protection
- KiCad
- Low-noise power design
- Embedded product development
Please include one or two examples of previous automotive, telematics, GNSS, driver-safety or embedded hardware projects.
