I need an engine that can take the content of my textbooks and automatically create high-quality multiple-choice quizzes. The focus is on Mathematics and the full breadth of Science—physics, chemistry, and biology all included—so the system has to recognise formulas, definitions, and conceptual explanations drawn straight from the pages.

Here’s how I picture the workflow: I drop a chapter (PDF, ePub, or clean text) into the tool, choose the number of questions I want, and receive a pool of multiple-choice items complete with correct answers and brief explanations. Difficulty should be adjustable (intro, intermediate, advanced) so I can reuse the same material with different student groups, and questions must never be lifted verbatim from the source.

Key deliverables
• Source code for the generator (Python preferred, but another language is fine if clearly documented)
• Simple command-line or lightweight web interface to upload a textbook section, set quiz parameters, and download results (CSV or JSON)
• README that walks me through installation, textbook formatting requirements, and how to extend the question templates
• A sample run that generates at least 20 questions from a maths chapter and 20 from a science chapter, showing varied distractors and accurate explanations

Acceptance criteria
• All questions are original, factually correct, and tied to the submitted text
• Each item contains one unambiguous correct answer and three believable distractors
• No duplicate or near-duplicate questions in a single quiz
• Code runs locally on Windows, macOS, and Linux without paid dependencies

If you’ve built anything similar—especially NLP pipelines or assessment tools—let me see it, and tell me what libraries you’d use to parse technical content and craft those distractors.
