# Developer Needed – Automated Label Editing & Barcode Generation Tool

I'm looking for a developer to build a tool that can automatically edit predefined label templates using information supplied by the user.

I will provide **example/reference labels showing exactly which parts of each template need to be changed and how the finished output should look**. The fields and positions will not initially be provided as programmatic coordinates/specifications — they will need to be recreated from the supplied examples.

### Basic workflow

The tool will receive information such as:

- Tracking/reference numbers
- Addresses/names
- Various other custom text/numeric fields

Certain supplied values will also need to be converted into the appropriate machine-readable barcode format.

The tool should then:

1. Take the original label template.
2. Replace the relevant information based on the supplied reference/example.
3. Generate the required barcode(s) from the supplied data.
4. Place the barcode(s) in the correct locations.
5. Match the positioning, sizing, fonts and general appearance of the reference.
6. Return the completed label as an image/PDF.

There will be **multiple different label templates**, with different fields and layouts.

For each template, I will provide examples demonstrating what information needs changing and where it should appear.

### Interface

Ideally this would operate through a simple bot or web interface.

Example:

**Choose template → enter requested fields → generate → receive completed label**

The exact interface isn't particularly important as long as the process is quick and reliable.

### Important requirements

The developer should be comfortable with:

- Python or another suitable language
- Image manipulation (Pillow/OpenCV/etc.)
- PDF/image generation
- Barcode generation and encoding
- Dynamic text placement
- Matching fonts, spacing, sizing and alignment
- Working from visual/reference examples
- Building a simple bot or web interface
- Producing high-resolution output suitable for printing

Barcode knowledge is particularly useful, as some values will need to be correctly encoded rather than simply displayed as text.

### What I will provide

For each format I can provide:

- Original/template image
- Example completed labels
- Explanation of which information is variable
- Example input values
- Expected finished output

The developer will then determine the appropriate positioning/layout rules from those examples and implement them into the system.
