Automate Outlook Enquiry Processing

I am starting a multi-stage automation project and the very first milestone is to take the daily flood of Outlook messages off my plate. Here’s what I need right now: every new email that lands in my main Outlook inbox must be read automatically, identified as either a “request for quote” or “other enquiry”, stored neatly in an Excel file, and answered with a short receipt confirmation.

In practical terms this means:
• Outlook is the mailbox you will connect to.
• The sorting logic must recognise “requests for quotes” as the top priority; everything else falls into a second bucket labelled “other enquiries”.
• Each recognised enquiry adds (at minimum) Name, Email, Phone, Company, Subject, and Date into separate Excel columns so that the sheet can be filtered and reported on later.
• An automatic reply is then sent from the same account confirming we have received the message and will review it shortly.

I am open to the method you choose—Power Automate, VBA, a lightweight Python or Node script hooked to the Microsoft Graph API—so long as it runs reliably in the cloud and can be handed over with clear setup instructions.

Deliverable: a working automation with documentation that lets me switch it on, test it, and verify that new messages are being categorised, logged to Excel, and acknowledged without manual effort.

Once this foundation is solid, I’ll move on to the later stages of the project, so building it cleanly and with future tweaks in mind will put us both in a good spot for ongoing work.
