Auto-Trader Style Vehicle Marketplace

I’m commissioning a full-stack build of an automotive advertising platform that delivers the familiar Auto Trader experience while remaining 100 % bespoke and owned by me at hand-over.

Scope of work
• Vehicle coverage must start with cars, motorcycles and trucks, then scale to an “all vehicles” bucket for any future niches I add.
• Two clear portals: one for private sellers, another for professional dealers, each with its own dashboard, invoicing view and performance stats.
• Listings allow a maximum of 5- 20photos, auto-optimised to keep pages light and fast.
• UK number-plate data pulled in through an external API to pre-fill spec sheets.
• Location-based search that returns distance in miles from any UK postcode.
• Filters buyers actually use: price band, make & model, mileage, location, colour, gearbox, seats, year, insurance category plus body styles such as estate or MPV.
• Revenue layer: ad highlighting and featured listings sold as one-off upgrades or bundled inside subscriptions, with multiple payment options (card, PayPal, etc.).
• Secure admin panel so I can moderate ads, manage users, set prices and download reports without touching the code.
• Responsive UI and solid SEO foundations from day one.

Deliverables
1. Production-ready site deployed to a staging server for my testing.
2. Complete, well-commented source code and database schema.
3. Deployment and maintenance documentation.
4. Final hand-over session to confirm everything runs as specified.
