Recon + Service Shop Platform for Auto Dealers
I'm the owner of a multi-location independent auto dealer group with an in-house recon and service shop, and I'm building a simple, phone-first shop management platform — first for my own shop, then sold to other dealers and independent repair shops. The full product handles both internal recon (dealer-owned vehicles, costs accrue to a stock number) and customer-pay service and warranty work (customer accounts, revenue jobs) in one workflow — same bays, same techs, same parts counter.
THIS BID IS THE RECON MODULE plus the platform foundation it runs on. Service and Warranty modes are also include as well as a payment processing side for the service customer
Think of the big shop-management products, stripped to the six steps a real shop actually uses: intake, triage, inspect, estimate/approve, work, sign-off.
Core of the build: responsive web app (phone experience is first-class), VIN barcode scan + NHTSA decode, guided photo/video capture (listing-grade — the recon media becomes the vehicle's sales listing, shot once, retrievable via API), snap-a-receipt with AI reading costs into coded line items, voice-driven inspections where AI drafts the repair lines, background parts sourcing across supplier APIs, per-line tech time clock, one shop board with stuck-item flags. All AI features are calls to commercial AI APIs — you are not building models. API-first: everything the UI does is available via documented API.
The full 9-page scope document is attached with numbered requirements, technical boundaries, and three milestones. MILESTONE 1 IS A PAID TEST SLICE (intake through triage, working on a real vehicle) — a mutual evaluation before we commit to the rest.
To bid, answer the six items in Section 6 of the attached scope: your stack and why, your AI provider picks and rough per-card cost, price and timeline per milestone, 2–3 relevant past projects, your questions (cite requirement codes), and your team/hours. Bids that ask sharp questions about the document get read first. Generic copy-paste bids will be skipped.
Plain-spoken communication, working software over slideware, ask-don't-guess. The winning bidder gets the full product package under NDA before Milestone 1.
