I have a discretionary trust that distributes to two PTY LTD companies and we are currently under ATO review for several late lodgements. All core bookkeeping is done and I have draft financial statements for both the trust and the companies; however, I still need help with three key steps: finalising those statements so they meet ATO-ready standards, lodging the relevant returns through the tax agent portal, and negotiating any penalties or GIC that the review may trigger.

Here is the position so far
• Draft completed – every balance is already mapped in a working paper file (Excel and Xero).
• Supporting documents—bank feeds, loan schedules and distribution minutes—are organised and ready to share in OneDrive.
• Time sensitivity—the ATO has issued a review notice with a tight response window.

What I need from you
1. Technical polish: verify the draft figures, prepare compliant financial statements and tax returns for the trust and its PTY LTD beneficiaries, and generate all required schedules.
2. Lodgement: use your registered agent access to submit the returns and confirm acceptance.
3. Representation: craft the covering explanation for the late lodgements, communicate with the review officer, and actively pursue a reduction of penalties and GIC where possible.

You should already be comfortable working with discretionary trusts, PTY LTD company returns, and ATO reviews. Clear, proactive communication is essential because I want to stay involved and minimise costs by supplying any extra information you request quickly.

Deliverables (acceptance criteria)
– Final signed financial statements and tax returns (PDF and editable files).
– ATO lodgement receipts for each entity.
– Copies of all correspondence sent to, and received from, the ATO regarding the review, penalties and GIC.
– A brief completion summary noting any follow-up actions.

If you have recent wins in reducing ATO penalties, please mention them when you respond. I’m ready to move immediately and will upload the draft files as soon as we agree on scope.
