We are looking for an experienced Audio Systems Engineer to lead the technical development of our upcoming speaker project—from design validation through a fully functional prototype.
Key Responsibilities
Evaluate and validate our existing speaker module design.
Recommend suitable full-range drivers, passive radiators, amplifiers, Bluetooth modules, and related audio components.
Determine the optimal placement and configuration of drivers, passive radiators, amplifiers, and internal electronics.
Design and optimise the enclosure for sound quality, bass response, airflow, and acoustic performance.
Develop and tune the amplifier, audio-boost, DSP, and equaliser settings.
Ensure proper integration of Bluetooth connectivity, power systems, controls, and audio electronics.
Create the overall audio architecture, component specifications, and Bill of Materials (BOM).
Identify technical risks and recommend practical improvements for performance, reliability, and manufacturability.
Coordinate component sourcing, prototype assembly, testing, troubleshooting, and acoustic validation.
Take end-to-end technical ownership until a functional and validated prototype is achieved.
Work closely with the CEO and the Design Engineering team throughout the development process.
Maintain clear technical documentation, test reports, and progress updates.
Required Knowledge and Experience
Strong understanding of speaker systems and acoustic engineering.
Hands-on knowledge of full-range drivers, passive radiators, amplifiers, Bluetooth audio systems, DSP, equalisation, and audio enhancement.
Experience in speaker enclosure design, driver selection, component placement, and acoustic tuning.
Familiarity with frequency response, impedance, sensitivity, distortion, crossover behaviour, and power handling.
Experience developing and testing functional speaker prototypes.
Ability to work with existing mechanical or industrial designs and recommend technically feasible modifications.
Strong problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Preferred Candidate
Previous experience developing consumer, desktop, portable, or premium Bluetooth speakers.
Familiarity with acoustic measurement and simulation tools.
Experience working with component suppliers, prototype manufacturers, and product-design teams.
A portfolio or examples of successfully developed speaker or audio products would be highly preferred.
