Job Overview
The Associate / Sr. Associate Consultant is a core member of the Epidemiology & Outcomes Research team, responsible for supporting health economics and outcomes research (HEOR), evidence generation, and evidence synthesis projects across a range of therapeutic areas.
This role requires strong analytical and epidemiological skills, along with the ability to independently manage multiple concurrent projects under the guidance of a senior team member. You will contribute to the design and execution of literature reviews and other secondary research, interpret complex clinical, epidemiological, economic, and health outcomes evidence, and supervise junior colleagues on select workstreams.
The role requires close collaboration with cross-functional project teams and direct engagement with clients during meetings, project discussions, and deliverable presentations.
Core Responsibilities
Research and Analysis
Support the design and execution of systematic literature reviews (SLRs), targeted literature reviews (TLRs), and other evidence reviews, including development of search strategies, screening criteria, data extraction frameworks, and evidence synthesis approaches
Conduct structured searches across bibliographic databases and other relevant evidence sources; screen literature against project-specific inclusion/exclusion criteria and supervise junior colleagues on the same
Extract data in a structured manner, perform in-depth quality control, critically appraise studies, and interpret clinical, epidemiological, economic, and health outcomes evidence
Resolve complex data issues, identify key evidence gaps and insights, and summarize scientific data clearly and accurately
Support qualitative and narrative evidence synthesis across projects, including areas such as burden of disease, treatment patterns, unmet need, clinical outcomes, and other health outcomes evidence
Project Delivery and Quality
Develop and implement strategies to ensure accurate and timely delivery of analysis results
Manage multiple projects simultaneously with some guidance from senior team members
Support development of high-quality scientific and client deliverables, including literature review reports, manuscripts, evidence/value dossiers, abstracts, posters, and presentations, as appropriate to the project
Participate in client meetings and deliverable presentations, contributing analytical insight, interpretation of findings, and project updates
Support senior team members in project scoping, methodology development, proposal preparation, and estimation of project requirements
Team Support
Provide guidance and quality oversight to junior colleagues on literature screening and data extraction
Collaborate proactively with senior consultants and cross-functional teams to ensure project objectives are met
Contribute to internal knowledge sharing, training, methodology development, and continuous improvement of research processes and tools
Required Technical Expertise
Core Skills
Sound HEOR, epidemiological, and analytical skills, with the ability to critically interpret complex scientific and health outcomes data
Strong problem-solving mindset paired with excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proactive, flexible, and resourceful, with the ability to work independently and manage ambiguity
Excellent team player who is self-motivated and dependable
Proficiency in Microsoft Office - PowerPoint, Word, and Excel - and familiarity with reference-management software such as EndNote or equivalent
Working knowledge of AI tools and their application to research and analysis workflows
Education and Experience
Education
MPH, MSc, MPharm, or equivalent postgraduate qualification in Epidemiology, Health Economics, Outcomes Research, Biostatistics, Pharmacy, Public Health, or a related life sciences discipline
Required Experience
4-6 years of relevant experience in HEOR, epidemiology, evidence synthesis, or related research within pharmaceutical companies or Life Science consulting firms
Demonstrated experience conducting secondary research, literature reviews, evidence synthesis, and interpreting complex scientific data
Experience managing multiple projects concurrently, with some guidance from senior team members
