I’m ready to send an above-ground steel oil tank into fabrication and require a complete set of AutoCAD files first. I need both detailed 2D fabrication drawings and an accompanying 3D model so the shop can read every weld prep, plate thickness, and nozzle location without ambiguity.

Everything has to comply with current ASME rules—wall calculations have already been run, so your focus is translating those numbers into clean production drawings. Use AutoCAD (any recent release is fine); if you normally generate a 3D solid in Inventor or SolidWorks before saving to DWG, that works for me too, as long as the final files remain fully editable in AutoCAD.

Deliverables
• 2D fabrication package: general arrangement, orthographic views, sections, detailed nozzle cut-outs, BOM with call-outs, and welding symbols.
• 3D model of the entire vessel, exactly matching the 2D geometry.
• All native files (DWG) plus a neutral 3D format (STEP or IGES) for shop transfer.

Acceptance criteria
• Dimensions match the specifications I provide to within ±0.5 mm.
• ASME weld symbols and notes correctly applied.
• Layers, line types, and text styles kept tidy for easy editing.

Once I review PDFs of the sheets, we’ll lock revisions, then you can send the final CAD package so I can forward it straight to the fabricator.
