Architectural Draftsperson – Town Planning & Working Drawings

Experienced Architectural Draftsperson – Australian Working Drawings (AutoCAD)

We are an Australian building design company seeking an experienced freelance Architectural Draftsperson to assist with converting approved town planning drawings into detailed architectural working drawings ready for engineering coordination.

We have completed town planning drawings and sample working drawing packages that demonstrate our required drafting standards.

Scope of Work:
Convert approved town planning drawings into complete architectural working drawings using AutoCAD.
Prepare detailed floor plans, elevations, sections, roof plans and construction details.
Include accurate dimensions, levels, annotations, door and window schedules and relevant construction notes.
Ensure drawings comply with the Australian National Construction Code (NCC) and relevant Victorian Building Regulations.
Coordinate documentation to ensure drawings are ready for structural engineering.
Follow our existing drawing templates, standards and sample documentation.
Provide completed DWG files and PDF drawing sets.

Requirements:
Minimum 3–5 years of architectural drafting experience.
Strong AutoCAD skills are essential.
Proven experience converting town planning drawings into detailed construction documentation.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet agreed deadlines.
Previous experience working with an Australian architectural, building design or construction company would be highly regarded.
Familiarity with Australian residential construction methods and building regulations is preferred.
Good written and spoken English communication skills.

Important:
We are not looking for someone who can simply redraw plans. We need an experienced draftsperson who understands the transition from town planning approval to construction documentation and can independently prepare accurate working drawings ready for engineering.

Deliver both the editable DWG files and print-ready PDFs. Accuracy to the attached samples matters more than speed, but let me know your realistic turnaround time when you reply.
