API Throughput Load Testing

I need a performance-testing specialist who can model and execute high-volume scenarios against our RESTful API. The primary focus is to measure and optimise throughput, so the test plan should reveal how many transactions per second the service sustains before degradation appears.

My current toolchain centres on Neoload, but I also have an existing LoadRunner licence and would like the scripts to be portable between the two when practical. You are free to choose the more efficient platform for each step—design, execution, and reporting—as long as the final artefacts run in Neoload and can be replicated in LoadRunner for comparison.

Scope of work
• Review the API documentation and propose realistic load profiles.
• Build parameterised test scripts that capture authentication, dynamic data, and error handling.
• Configure load, stress, and endurance sweeps, starting with a baseline run and escalating until saturation.
• Capture detailed throughput statistics alongside complementary metrics (response time, error rate) to enrich the analysis.
• Produce a concise report that highlights bottlenecks, charts the throughput curve, and recommends tuning actions.

Acceptance criteria
– Scripts execute without manual intervention in both Neoload and LoadRunner.
– Test evidence clearly shows achieved throughput at each load level.
– Final report is delivery-ready for our engineering and management teams.
