API Automation Testing

I need a solid automation suite for my REST-based service and want it written in TypeScript with Cucumber. The API is already live; what’s missing is a reliable, repeatable way to validate each endpoint whenever we push new code.

The job centres on building (or extending) a Cucumber + TypeScript framework that can:
• hit every current REST endpoint,
• assert responses and status codes,
• pull test data from configurable files or environment variables, and
• output readable reports (HTML or JSON) after each run.

Once the core framework is in place, a handful of sample scenarios should demonstrate the pattern so my in-house team can keep adding tests. Clear setup instructions (npm scripts, ts-config, step definitions, feature files) and a brief README are essential.

Acceptance criteria
• All tests run with a single command on Mac, Linux, or CI.
• Reports show pass/fail for each scenario and step.
• Code is clean, typed, and pushed to our private Git repository.

If you can also wire this into our existing CI pipeline, let me know—that will be a welcome extra.
