The main question is: How can workforce planning help organisations prepare for the challenges and opportunities of an ageing workforce? You must choose ONE focus area: demographic changes and labour shortages, succession planning, skills shortages and knowledge transfer, flexible work arrangements, or recruitment and retention of older workers. All four journal articles must directly relate to your chosen focus area.
For Part 1, you need to complete an annotated bibliography using four academic journal articles from the approved journal list. The four sources should be arranged alphabetically, and each annotation should be approximately 300–330 words. Each annotation must include the full APA 7 reference, an introduction explaining what the article is about, the main findings of the research, and a critical evaluation explaining how useful and relevant the article is to answering the main question.
For Part 2, you must answer the main question in 500–550 words, using and citing all four sources from your annotated bibliography in APA 7 style. The answer must contain two paragraphs, with Paragraph 1 being 250–275 words and using two sources, and Paragraph 2 being 250–275 words and using the other two sources. A reference list containing the four sources must also be included and is not part of the word count.
The formatting requirements are 1.5 line spacing, 2.5 cm margins on all sides, and 12-point standard font such as Times New Roman, Calibri or Arial.
For a High Distinction, the work needs to go beyond summarising the articles. It should demonstrate deep understanding, exceptional critical engagement, strong connections between sources, and a compelling and nuanced argument. The writing should also be exceptionally clear, with accurate APA referencing, grammar and spelling throughout.
