Senior Android VPN Developer Needed - Production VPN Experience Required

We are looking for an experienced individual developer to build and launch a consumer Android VPN app.

A reference UI image will be provided.

The UI is relatively simple. VPN speed, reliability, network handling, and infrastructure are the main priorities.

Requirements:

- Native Android development with Kotlin
- Android VpnService experience
- WireGuard, OpenVPN, IKEv2, or similar VPN protocol experience
- One-tap connect and disconnect
- Automatic and manual VPN server selection
- Fast and stable VPN connections
- Automatic reconnect and server failover
- Wi-Fi and mobile network switching support
- DNS and IPv6 leak prevention
- VPN server and backend integration
- Server health and load monitoring
- AdMob integration
- Google Play VPN compliance
- Google Play release support

We expect the developer to understand both the Android VPN client and the infrastructure behind it.

Expected architecture:

Android App -> Control/API Layer -> Select Healthy VPN Server -> Encrypted VPN Tunnel -> Internet

The control layer may manage server locations, availability, latency, packet loss, server load, configuration, and failover.

We are open to WireGuard, OpenVPN, IKEv2, or another suitable protocol. The developer should recommend the best approach for a fast and scalable consumer VPN.

Important:

We are not looking for someone learning VPN development for the first time.

We prefer an individual developer, not an agency, who has previously built real Android VPN applications.

Ideally, you can handle:

Android app + VPN integration + backend/control plane + VPN server infrastructure + Google Play launch
