Android Translation & Battery Optimization

I need help taking my current Android app to the next level in two areas:
1. Translation
All user-facing text must be moved to a clean strings.xml file (where it isn’t already) and translated into natural, idiomatic French. Please keep all formatting, placeholders, plurals, and accessibility descriptions intact so nothing breaks at runtime. The final deliverable should be an updated strings.xml plus any additional resource files required for perfect French localisation.
2. Battery-usage optimisation
The code base (Kotlin with a few legacy Java classes) runs well, yet power consumption is higher than it should be. I want lightweight, maintainable changes that noticeably reduce battery drain without sacrificing features. Typical focus areas include:
• background services and alarms
• wake-lock handling
• location updates / sensors
• network polling intervals
• WorkManager / JobScheduler usage
Feel free to profile with Android Studio Profiler, Battery Historian or other tools you trust; I’ll review before-and-after metrics.
Deliverables
• Updated resource files containing the full French translation
• Refactored source code or pull request with clear commit messages
• Short report (PDF or Markdown) outlining every change plus screenshots or logs that demonstrate battery improvements on at least one mid-range device running Android 13
Acceptance Criteria
• No string or layout regressions when switching between English and French
• Minimum 15 % drop in average battery consumption during a 30-minute typical-use scenario (I’ll replicate with the same profiler settings)
• App passes existing unit/UI tests
If you have previous work that shows localisation quality and energy optimisation prowess, a quick link or repo reference will speed things up.
