Android Login UI Bug Fixes

My Android app needs a quick but thorough tune-up focused entirely on the login screen. Right now users run into three pain points: they see an “incorrect credentials” message even when the details are right, the app occasionally crashes as soon as they hit “Sign In,” and when it does work the response time feels sluggish. All of these issues sit squarely in the UI/UX layer, so I’m looking for someone who can dive into the existing Kotlin code (Android Studio Arctic Fox and up), trace the flow between the form, the ViewModel and the API call, then deliver a clean, stable and responsive experience.
What I expect once you’re done:
• Correct validation so legitimate users get through on the first try, with clear feedback when credentials are truly wrong.
• Zero crashes anywhere in the login sequence, verified on at least Android 8 through 13.
• A noticeably faster login—ideally under two seconds on an average 4G connection.
You’ll have Git access to the current repo plus staging API keys for testing. Feel free to introduce Jetpack libraries or refactor layouts if that speeds things up, but keep existing design assets in place. When you’re confident everything is solid, open a merge request and include a brief changelog so I can track what moved.
