Android GPS Tracker App Development

I need to build an Android-only GPS tracking app that shows a device’s position in real time, raises instant geofence alerts, and stores route history for later review. Social sign-in (Google and Facebook at minimum) will handle user authentication; no email/password flow is required.

Core flow
• After social login, the user lands on a live map (Google Maps SDK preferred) that refreshes location data every few seconds without noticeable lag.
• From a simple dashboard the user can create, edit, and delete circular or polygon geofences. Whenever a device enters or exits one of these zones, the app must trigger a push notification and log the event.
• Route history should be queryable by date range and rendered as a polyline on the map, with basic stats (distance, duration). Store at least 30 days of data.

Tech notes
I am open to Java or Kotlin, but the code should follow modern Android best practices (MVVM, Jetpack components, location in foreground service, runtime permission handling). If you prefer Flutter or React Native, let me know how you will meet all Android-specific guidelines. A lightweight backend (Firebase, Supabase, or your suggested stack) can manage authentication tokens, geofence definitions, and historical tracks.

Acceptance criteria
• Live location updates ≤5 s latency
• Geofence enter/exit push notification within 3 s
