I need a lightweight Android application that lets our supervisors enter and track employee attendance only—no chat or task boards, just clean data entry around staff presence.
Core flow
• Open the app, search or scan for an existing employee record.
• Mark the employee as present, absent, or late and save the entry on the spot.
• View a history screen that can be filtered by date, department, or name.
• Export the attendance log to CSV or have it sync automatically to the REST endpoint I will provide.
Tech expectations
Kotlin in Android Studio, targeting Android 8.0 and above. A local Room/SQLite database should cache records when the device is offline, then push them once a connection returns. Material Design components are preferred so the UI feels familiar on 6"–10" devices.
Deliverables
1. Full Android Studio project with clear, well-commented source code.
2. Signed test APK plus final release build.
3. A concise README covering build steps, DB schema, and where to adjust the API URL.
Acceptance criteria
– Attendance events save offline and sync flawlessly.
– UI is responsive and intuitive; no paid or licence-restricted libraries used.
– Final build passes installation and basic usage tests on both a phone and a tablet.
