I want to launch a full on-demand delivery platform on Android, with two distinct experiences: one app for customers to place and follow their orders, and another for drivers to accept jobs and navigate their routes. Live order tracking must be rendered on Google Maps in real time, and every key stage—pickup, en-route, drop-off—should trigger an email notification to the customer.
Reliability is critical. Location updates need to be accurate but battery-friendly, so please factor in smart polling, foreground services, or any other best-practice techniques you normally apply. The backend has to scale smoothly under real transaction load; I will share my operating model so you can size the concurrency, database writes, and messaging throughput. Whichever stack you propose, I expect clean API design, secure authentication, and solid test coverage.
Deliverables
• Android customer app
• Android driver app
• Scalable backend with API endpoints and admin access
• Google Maps integration for live tracking
• Email notification service wired to each status change
• Source code, build scripts, and deployment docs
Acceptance criteria will be simple: when I spin up the backend and install both APKs, I can create an order, watch it move on the map as a driver updates progress, and receive the matching emails without noticeable delay. Let me know the tech stack you’d like to use, the timeline you can commit to, and any questions you have once you review the operating model.
