I’m putting together an Android Studio app whose only job is to pull product records from a Postgres instance hosted on Google Cloud and show them in a clean, scrollable list. The data connection must run through Google’s Antigravity agent so the app stays lightweight and secure without shipping database credentials inside the APK.
Here’s what I need from you:
• A minimal yet solid Android Studio project (Kotlin or Java—your choice) that connects to the Postgres database via the Antigravity agent.
• An async call that fetches product data—name, price, description, image URL are enough for a working demo—and maps it into a RecyclerView list.
• Basic UI: toolbar with app name, RecyclerView list, placeholder images handled gracefully, and swipe-to-refresh. Material 3 components are preferred.
• Clear, commented code showing how the Antigravity client is initialised, how credentials/tokens are kept out of the app, and how the query is structured.
• A short README explaining local setup, required Google Cloud roles/APIs, and how to point the build at a different Cloud SQL instance.
Acceptance criteria
1. Clean build in the latest stable Android Studio without manual tweaks.
2. On launch, the list populates from our Cloud SQL Postgres via Antigravity; offline or auth errors are surfaced with a Snackbar.
3. No hard-coded keys or passwords inside the repo; connection details are read from secure config or runtime.
If you have previous experience with Google Cloud SQL, Cloud Build, or similar connector agents, that’s a big plus—I’m aiming to keep the cloud side as managed as possible. Let me know how quickly you can spin up a proof of concept and what you’ll need from my end (service account, sample schema, etc.).
