We are launching Pulse, an Android app that turns a photo of a business card (visiting card) into a phone contact, made for expos, trade fairs and meetings. It is in a closed test on Google Play, and we need real Android users in India to use it for 14 days and tell us honestly what works and what does not.
You can get further details at www.pulsecardscanner.com
WHO CAN APPLY
- You live in India and use an Android phone (Android 8 or newer) every day.
- You can give us the Google account already signed in to your Play Store. No new Gmail needed.
- You can collect or borrow at least 30 different business cards over the two weeks (yours, friends', shops', from a market or an event or even online).
- Good to have: you visit trade fairs, meet clients, or run a small business.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
1. Day 1: we add your Google account to the test and send you a link. Join the test, install Pulse from Google Play and sign in with Google.
2. Keep the app installed for all 14 days. Do not uninstall it or leave the test.
3. Use it on at least 10 of the 14 days, scanning at least one card on each of those days.
4. Over the two weeks, scan at least 30 different cards (including one photo with several cards and one card with a back side), and try:
- fixing a contact that was read wrong, adding a note, setting a follow-up date
- making your own digital card and sharing it once
- creating an event and trying Exhibition mode
- exporting your contacts once (Excel or Google Contacts)
- Pulse Brief on one contact
5. Send feedback from inside the app (Settings > Help & support) three times:
- Day 2: first impressions, what was confusing, what you liked
- Day 7: anything that broke or was slow, with screenshots if you can
- Day 14: a short summary. Would you use it after an expo? What is missing?
English or Hindi is fine. Honest feedback is more useful than polite feedback.
PLEASE DO NOT
- Post a rating or review on Google Play, or share the test link with anyone.
- Use an emulator, a second account or someone else's phone.
HOW WE CHECK
Our dashboard shows, by date, whether your account signed in and how many cards it read. We do not see your contacts or photos; they stay on your phone. Days with no use count as missed days.
We are hiring 10 testers for this project.
TO APPLY, PLEASE TELL US
- Your city and your phone model (and Android version, if you know it)
- How would you arrange for the 30 visiting cards.
- One line on why you would be a good tester
Bids without these answers will not be considered.
