Ancestry.com Content To Amazon Book

Dave speaking: I've got this Ancestry.com tree. And want to publish it, Amazon KDP, for me and some family members. I'm not looking for deep embellishment, simply capturing what's there, as spotty as the tree is. I've published a few things with KDP.

I suspect I COULD do this with Family Tree Maker, but I'm not interested in learning it, messing with it.

Does this seem like something you're interested in doing?

I have assembled an extensive family archive on Ancestry.com—complete trees, attached historical records, and a library of photographs. I want all of that material turned into a polished manuscript that I can upload directly to Amazon’s Kindle Direct Publishing platform.

Please log in with the guest credentials I will supply, export everything that sits under each branch of the tree, and reorganize the narrative branch-by-branch so every surname line reads as its own mini-chapter. Within each branch, facts should flow naturally—birth, marriage, migration, notable events—always cited back to the original record link. Photographs need to be placed near the relevant story sections.

Because Amazon’s trim sizes, bleed allowances and image-resolution rules can be tricky, the final file must meet KDP specifications (either a ready-to-upload PDF or a fully formatted DOCX). I will also need the native working files you use—InDesign, Affinity Publisher, or similar—so I can make small edits later.

Deliverables
• Fully formatted KDP-ready interior file, organized by family branches
• High-resolution cover (front, spine, back) matching the interior trim size
• Source files with embedded images and style sheets
• Citations list or bibliography pointing back to every Ancestry record used

Acceptance Criteria
• Passes KDP’s pre-flight check with no warnings
• All images minimum 300 dpi and correctly compressed
• Consistent heading hierarchy, page numbering, and family-branch colour coding
• Proofreading pass completed—no obvious typos or formatting glitches

Once I approve a brief sample chapter you create first, you can move on to the full book.
