Alumni Journey: Coffee Table Book Design

Professional Coffee Table Book Designer / Editorial Book Designer – 200–250 Pages

We are looking for an experienced and highly creative Coffee Table Book Designer / Editorial Book Designer to design a premium-quality book documenting the journey and stories of college alumni.

The book will combine memories and stories from college life with the alumni's present-day journeys, achievements, experiences, and current stories.

The final book should feel like a professionally published, premium coffee-table book rather than a standard yearbook or simple photo album.

PROJECT SCOPE

• Approx. 200–250 pages

• Content will include:

* Alumni stories and personal journeys
* College memories and experiences
* Current professional/personal stories
* Photographs from college days
* Current photographs of alumni
* Captions, quotes and supporting text
* Archival photographs and other visual material

We will provide the written content, photographs and other relevant material.

We may also provide an older college/alumni book as a design reference. The designer will be expected to develop a fresh, premium and cohesive visual identity for the new book rather than simply copying the reference.

WHAT WE NEED

We are looking for someone who can handle the complete visual design and layout of the book, including:

• Overall book concept and visual direction
• Cover design
• Table of contents and introductory pages
• Section/chapter layouts
• Alumni profile/story layouts
• Creative use of photographs
• Typography and font selection
• Page composition and visual hierarchy
• Pull quotes and highlighted memories
• Captions and supporting elements
• Consistent design system throughout 200–250 pages
• Creative transitions between sections
• Professional handling of old and new photographs
• Print-ready final files
• Final PDF suitable for professional printing

DESIGN EXPECTATIONS

The book should feel:

Elegant • Premium • Emotional • Contemporary • Editorial • Timeless

We want the designer to bring their own creative thinking to the project.

We are NOT looking for a basic Canva/Word template or repetitive page layouts. The book should have visual variety while maintaining a strong and consistent overall identity.

The designer should understand how to balance:

Photography + Storytelling + Typography + White Space + Visual Hierarchy

DELIVERABLES

The selected designer will be expected to provide:

• Initial design concept
• Cover design
• Sample pages for approval
• Complete 200–250 page book layout
• Final print-ready PDF
• Editable source files, preferably Adobe InDesign package
• Linked images, fonts and other required assets
• Minor revisions based on feedback

WORKFLOW

We would prefer to work in stages:

Stage 1: Concept + visual direction

Stage 2: Cover + 5–10 sample pages

Stage 3: Approval of design language

Stage 4: Complete book layout

Stage 5: Final proofreading corrections and print-ready files

We will provide the content and photographs progressively.
