# Developer Needed – Flight Tracking Bot + Mobile App
We are looking for an experienced developer to build a flight-tracking solution, initially focused on tracking aircraft associated with Formula 1 drivers, with the possibility of expanding the platform to other public figures and use cases in the future.
## Phase 1 – Twitter/X Flight Tracking Bot
The first phase is to develop an automated Twitter/X bot that:
* Tracks specific aircraft by registration/tail number.
* Uses a reliable flight-tracking/data API.
* Detects relevant events such as departures, arrivals, and potentially changes in destination/status.
* Automatically publishes updates to a Twitter/X account.
* Includes relevant flight information in a clean, consistent format.
* Is designed so additional aircraft can easily be added later.
* Runs reliably on a cloud/server environment with appropriate monitoring and error handling.
## Phase 2 – iOS & Android App
After successfully launching the bot, we would like to develop a dedicated mobile application for iOS and Android.
The app should eventually include:
* Tracking of selected aircraft.
* Real-time or near-real-time flight updates.
* Push notifications for departures, arrivals, and other relevant events.
* Ability for users to follow/unfollow specific aircraft or profiles.
* Historical flight/activity information.
* Clean and modern UI.
* Backend/API architecture capable of supporting a growing number of users and tracked aircraft.
The initial focus will be Formula 1-related aircraft tracking, but the architecture should be scalable so the platform can later support additional categories and public figures.
## What We're Looking For
Ideally, you have experience with:
* Flight/aviation APIs such as ADS-B Exchange, FlightAware, OpenSky, or similar services.
* Twitter/X API and automated posting.
* Backend development and scheduled/event-driven processing.
* Cloud infrastructure and databases.
* Push notifications (FCM/APNs).
* iOS/Android development, preferably using Flutter or React Native for a shared codebase.
* Building scalable APIs and notification systems.
Experience working with aviation data or flight-tracking applications would be a strong advantage.
Please include examples of relevant projects you have previously built and briefly explain how you would approach Phase 1, including which flight-data provider/API you would recommend.
We are looking for someone who can ideally work with us beyond the initial bot and help develop the project into a complete mobile platform.
