AI WhatsApp–Sheets Integration

I need a small AI-powered bridge between WhatsApp and Google Sheets. Whenever a worker sends a daily update through WhatsApp, the system should read the message, pick out the task name, its status, and the date, then drop each of those pieces into dedicated columns in my sheet—one row per update.

The core requirement is clean extraction: the AI must parse unstructured text and reliably separate the three fields, preserving any punctuation or accents the sender used. If a message reads “Plastering ceiling – done – 12/06”, the sheet should instantly show “Plastering ceiling | done | 12/06”. No manual review, no extra clicks.

You’re free to choose the tech stack—Python, Node.js, Apps Script, or another stable option—as long as it connects to the official WhatsApp Business API (or Twilio) and writes to Google Sheets with minimal latency. It should run unattended on a small cloud instance, log errors, and be simple for me to redeploy if keys change.

Deliverables:
• Source code with clear inline comments
• A live demo or test number showing messages flowing into my sheet
• Setup guide covering API credentials, deployment steps, and how to add new columns later

Once delivered, I’ll run a quick acceptance test by sending a handful of sample updates; if every task name, status, and date appears in the correct columns, we’re done.
