AI Order Fulfillment Automation

I need an end-to-end AI-driven system that takes our current, largely manual order fulfillment flow and turns it into a seamless, touch-free process. The immediate focus is the fulfillment stage itself—everything that happens from the moment an order hits our ERP through confirmation that the shipment is on its way to the customer. Inventory management and broader transportation logistics automation may follow later, but for now I want to perfect fulfillment first.

Here’s what I have in mind:

• Ingest live order data from our existing platform (an SQL-backed ERP with open REST APIs).
• Use rules-based logic and machine-learning models—Python, Node, or a comparable stack are all fine—to decide routing, allocate stock, and trigger pick/pack instructions automatically.
• Push real-time status updates back to the ERP and our customer portal so every stakeholder can track progress instantly.
• Build a lightweight dashboard (Power BI or similar) so operations staff can override, audit, and fine-tune the AI’s decisions.
• Deliver clear documentation and a hand-off session so my in-house team can maintain the solution.

Acceptance criteria: the automated workflow must process at least 95 % of daily orders without human intervention, cut average fulfillment time by 30 %, and generate error logs that make any exception traceable in under two clicks.
