**Freelance Grant Research & Funding Specialist – AI / Engineering Technology**

Automatic Engineer (AE) is an Australian technology company developing an AI-powered Engineering Intelligence platform for infrastructure, engineering, construction and government organisations.

We are seeking an experienced freelance **Grant Research & Funding Specialist** to identify, assess and prioritise government grants and other non-dilutive funding opportunities relevant to AE.

### Scope

The initial engagement will focus on identifying suitable Australian Federal and State funding programs, including opportunities relating to:

* Artificial Intelligence
* Software and SaaS
* Engineering technology
* Infrastructure innovation
* Research and development
* Commercialisation
* Digital transformation
* Export and international growth
* Sovereign capability
* Defence and critical infrastructure, where relevant

Queensland-based opportunities should also be specifically considered.

The freelancer will be expected to:

* Identify currently open and upcoming funding opportunities
* Review eligibility requirements and key conditions
* Assess likely suitability for Automatic Engineer
* Rank opportunities based on strategic fit, funding value, probability of success, timing and application effort
* Identify key information or actions required before applying
* Recommend which opportunities AE should pursue first

### Deliverable

The primary deliverable will be a concise grant register covering approximately **15–25 of the strongest opportunities**, including:

The platform is targeted toward major infrastructure, engineering, construction and government organisations.

We are particularly interested in funding supporting Australian technology development, artificial intelligence, innovation, R&D, commercialisation, sovereign capability and international expansion.

### Ideal Experience

We are looking for someone with demonstrated experience in Australian government grants and preferably experience working with technology, SaaS, AI, engineering, infrastructure or innovation-focused companies.

Experience identifying and preparing successful grant applications will be highly regarded.

This initial engagement is primarily focused on **grant identification and strategy rather than writing applications**. Successful completion may lead to ongoing work assisting AE with applications and monitoring future funding opportunities.
