I need a working prototype that shows how we can track tools or equipment as they move between people across our sites. In this first build the platform only has to handle tools assigned to people, but it must do that well. Every item profile should store its name, at least one photo, current condition, and the person who has it right now.

Core flow
• Create or import a tool record, upload a quick photo, add its condition, and attach it to a specific employee.
• Reassign or return the item in seconds—scanning a simple QR or just picking from a list, whichever you find faster for the prototype.
• See at a glance who holds what, with search and basic filter options.
• Flag anything overdue or marked “poor condition.”

Where the AI comes in
I want to demonstrate speed and reduced data entry: when a photo is uploaded, the system should run a lightweight model (your choice of library) to suggest the item category and pre-fill condition hints, so users mainly confirm rather than type. Any other smart-automation touches you can fit in will help prove the concept.

Technology expectations
Choose a stack you can stand up quickly—React, Flutter, or a small Python web app are all fine as long as the code is clean, documented, and runs locally or on a free tier cloud. A simple relational database is enough for now.

Deliverables
• Source code and brief setup guide
• Seed data for a handful of sample tools and users
• Short screen-capture walkthrough showing the key flows and the AI assist in action

If the demo feels solid we will extend it to location tracking and full assignment history in the next phase.
