I want to turn a series of chess puzzles into a fully-fledged escape-room adventure. Instead of presenting players with isolated tactics, every position must push the narrative forward: a move reveals a clue, a sacrifice opens a secret drawer, a checkmate triggers the next character interaction.
Core direction
The overall tone is adventurous; think daring discoveries and escalating stakes rather than quiet contemplation. I’m open to shifting settings—one chapter might unfold in a medieval tower, the next in a neon-lit metropolis—so feel free to weave multiple locations together if that serves the story arc.
Must-have puzzle elements
• Hidden messages: coordinates, cipher fragments, or board patterns that spell out the next objective.
• Character interactions: NPCs (live actors or audio prompts) who react to the player’s chess decisions and guide or mislead them.
• Physical objects to manipulate: clocks, drawers, or boards that physically change when the right move is played.
What I need from you
1. A concise story outline that breaks the adventure into clear chapters or rooms.
2. For each chapter, a chess position (FEN) with a step-by-step solution tied to the plot twist it unlocks.
3. Detailed notes on props, character cues, and hidden-message mechanics so builders and actors can replicate the experience.
4. A single master flowchart showing how choices, hints, and fail-safes keep players on pace without railroading them.
Acceptance criteria
• Every puzzle must resolve within 3-10 moves.
• Each resolution must physically or narratively unlock the next scene.
• All materials arrive in editable files (PGN/FEN for positions, PDF or DOCX for narrative and prop lists).
If you thrive at blending chess theory with immersive storytelling, this project should be a delight. Let’s craft an adventure players won’t forget.
