Advanced UI Builder Upgrade

I’m ready to take my existing web application up a notch by adding an in-app, drag-and-drop layout builder with fully customizable buttons and sections. The goal is to let any non-technical user rearrange pages, create new ones, and tweak component styles—colors, shapes, icons, animations—on the fly, all from the browser.

You’ll work against the current codebase (React + Node) and are free to lean on Claude for rapid prototyping or refactoring as you see fit; I already have an API key available. Expect to add reusable components, a live preview canvas, and a simple JSON schema that persists layouts to the database.

Key deliverables
• A responsive drag-and-drop editor that snaps to a 12-column grid
• A set of pre-built, theme-aware buttons/blocks the user can re-style without code
• State management wired so changes are auto-saved and instantly reflected in preview
• Clean, documented code plus a brief walkthrough video highlighting new modules

Acceptance criteria
1. I can build a page from scratch using only the editor—no manual code touches.
2. All created pages render consistently across Chrome, Firefox, and Safari.
3. Lighthouse performance score ≥ 90 after your update.
