I have a growing set of cost and expense data that is starting to out-grow simple spreadsheets. What I need is an Excel file that does three things very well:
• Cleans, organises, and merges the raw data I receive each week
• Uses solid formulas (lookups, dynamic arrays, pivot logic, etc.) to calculate totals, variances, and other key results automatically
• Presents the insights in a clear dashboard—interactive charts, summaries, and trend views that management can understand at a glance
Accuracy is critical, so the first step will be building a reliable data model: duplicate removal, consistent naming, and a structure that can accept new imports without breaking anything. From there, I want the calculations and visuals to update themselves the moment fresh figures are dropped in.
Because some of these charts may later be copied into board-level decks, please set them up with clean formatting and colours that will translate well if I decide to paste them into PowerPoint.
Deliverables I expect:
1. A master workbook with automated data-cleaning routines
2. Calculation sheets (clearly labelled) that drive totals, costs, and other KPIs
3. A dashboard tab with interactive charts and slicers
4. A short hand-off note or video so I can maintain or extend the model after delivery
If you have questions about the current data layout or want a sample file before starting, just let me know and I’ll send it across.
