I am setting up an ongoing music-based group therapy program for adults in St Helena, CA, focused on mental health support. I’m looking for a qualified music therapist who can plan and facilitate engaging sessions that help participants better manage anxiety, mood, and overall emotional wellbeing through structured musical activities.

You will design the session flow, select appropriate techniques (improvisation, songwriting, lyric analysis, guided imagery, drumming circles—whatever fits the clinical goals), and lead the group in person at a local community space. I’m aiming for a small cohort so that everyone receives enough individual attention while still benefiting from the shared experience of making music together.

Key deliverables
• A brief written outline of the therapeutic framework and weekly session plans
• Facilitation of the first four group meetings (60–75 minutes each) with the option to extend the engagement if things go well
• Basic progress notes highlighting group themes and individual responses after each meeting

Board-certification (MT-BC) or equivalent, experience working with adult mental-health groups, and the ability to supply or advise on accessible instruments will be strong advantages.

If you’re passionate about using music to foster emotional resilience and can travel to St Helena, I’d love to hear how you would shape these sessions and what resources you would bring to the room.
