Add Fields to User Profiles

I need help modifying the data layer of my existing web application. Specifically, I want new or updated data fields added to the customer / user profile area. This is strictly about website or app data—no spreadsheets, external reports, or dashboards.

Your role will be to:
• extend the current database schema (or equivalent data store) with the additional profile fields I’ll specify once we start,
• surface those fields cleanly in the profile view and, if needed, in any underlying API or model so they stay in sync across the app,
• ensure validation, default values, and any necessary migration for existing user records.

The work should fit smoothly into my current tech stack, so bring whatever framework-level best practices you use for field creation, data migrations, and UI wiring. If you’ve carried out similar profile-data expansions before, that experience will be valuable here.

When we wrap up, I expect to see:
1. updated database / model files,
2. the profile UI showing and accepting the new fields,
3. brief implementation notes so I can maintain this going forward.
