I need a complete engineering design for an electro-permanent magnetic bed measuring 600 mm × 400 mm that will serve as a workholding fixture inside my CNC setup. Typical parts are mixed-metal assemblies—steel, aluminium, or combinations—each under 20 kg, so the bed must deliver consistent clamping force without deforming delicate components and must release instantly on command.
What I expect from you is a turnkey package: a well-thought-out pole-piece layout that guarantees even flux distribution, coil and magnet material specifications I can source locally, and clear manufacturing drawings. Please back the concept with holding-force calculations or an FEA snapshot so I can see the safety margin before I move to procurement. The final hand-off should include:
• 3D model and 2D fabrication drawings (STEP or IGES plus PDFs)
• Bill of materials with vendor references
• Basic wiring diagram and control logic notes
• Short memo summarising the force calculations
Acceptance criteria are straightforward: the bed must secure a 20 kg mixed-metal part with a minimum 3× safety factor, maintain field uniformity within ±10 %, and release cleanly with no residual drag that could mark a soft aluminium surface.
Let me know the CAD or simulation tools you plan to use—SolidWorks, Inventor, ANSYS Maxwell, COMSOL, or similar—and share any previous electro-permanent magnet work you have delivered. A brief milestone outline will help me gauge lead-time expectations.
