Title: Scale Model Car CAD Designer Needed (1:43 Scale) — Manufacturing-Ready Design for Resin Casting

Description:

We're looking for a 3D CAD designer to create collector-grade 1:43 scale model cars — the key requirement is that designs must be production-ready for silicone mold + resin casting, not just visually polished renders.

Responsibilities:

Design accurate 1:43 scale car bodies in CAD from reference blueprints/photos, maintaining correct proportions
Model geometry with mold-making in mind — minimizing undercuts, planning proper parting lines, and setting appropriate wall thickness
Design panel lines, door lines, and similar details at the correct depth (0.1–0.2mm) so they stay in proportion at this small scale
Deliver print-ready STL files for resin 3D printing
Revise the design based on feedback from test prints

Requirements:

Prior experience designing scale models, diecast, or collectible miniatures that were actually produced/cast (portfolio should show real production output, not just renders)
Practical understanding of manufacturing concepts: undercuts, parting lines, tolerances
Proficiency in Fusion 360 / Blender / Rhino
Experience preparing files for resin 3D printing

Selection process:
Candidates will first be given a small paid trial task (e.g., designing a single part — a wheel or bumper) to verify manufacturing awareness before the full project is awarded.

When applying, please answer:

Have you previously designed something that was actually cast/printed and sold as a production piece?
How do you typically handle undercuts when the geometry gets complex?
