2D/2.5D Animator Needed for a 75-Minute Christmas Film

We are making a 75-minute animated film based on Christmas.
The script, character artwork and storyboards are already prepared. We are now looking for an experienced and passionate 2D/2.5D animator who can bring the film to life.
We are open to different animation workflows and would like to hear what workflow you think would work best for our project.
This is likely to be a long-term project with intended sequels. You must have a passion for Christmas and be responsive via Chat.
I want to see your personality in our interactions & in your work. Use of A.I for responses or creative choices will remove you as a candidate (though it is understood A.I may be necessary to speed up unimportant tasks). Failure to answer straight questions means we will lose interest immediately.
TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS
The animator should be able to:
1. Create smooth and good-quality 2D or 2.5D animation based on our storyboards and character artwork.
2. Work with a suitable animation workflow, such as:
- Toon Boom Harmony
- Moho
- Adobe After Effects
- Blender
- OpenToonz
or another suitable 2D/2.5D software.
3. Make sure the characters look naturally connected with the backgrounds and do not look like they have simply been pasted onto the scene.
4. Create good camera movements and framing according to each scene.
5. Make the animation smooth, with the correct frame rate, resolution and aspect ratio.
COMPOSITING & FINAL LOOK
Compositing and final visual effects are important for this film.
The final scenes should have:
- Proper lighting and shadows
- Good colour correction and colour grading
- Characters matching the lighting of the background
- Soft and cast shadows where needed
- Highlights and glow
- Warm and cosy Christmas lighting
- Night-time lighting
- Snow and fire effects
- Candlelight and Christmas light glow
- Atmospheric effects
- Other effects needed to make the scenes look natural and cinematic
Ultimately, all elements in each scene should feel like they belong together.
What we already have:
- Completed script
- Character artwork
- Storyboards
Note:
We are not looking for AI-generated animation videos. Animation should be properly rigging based or manual frame by frame based.
Please send us:
- Your animation portfolio or showreel, and note 2 particular clips which best demonstrate your distinct style that could apply to this project
- Examples of your 2D/2.5D character animation
- Examples of compositing, lighting or visual effects, if available
- The software/workflow you normally use
- Your estimated production timeline (this is likely to be a longterm project over months, not completed in a week)
- Your rate or quotation structure
- Whether you work alone or with a small team
A small test scene of 15 seconds will be required before starting the full project, which you will be reimbursed for at an agreed price.
