I’m putting together a one-to-two-minute 2D short film that tells its entire story through visuals alone—no dialogue, no on-screen text—just pure character emotion. The piece centers on two main characters navigating an urban setting, and I want a playful cartoon aesthetic that pushes expression without losing believability.
Here’s what I’ll need from you:
• A story along with neatly illustrated storyboard that covers every shot and transition so we can lock timing and camera moves before animation starts. Storyboard sketch can be rough no need to be polished. Please refer to this video: https://youtu.be/iztLTHkpqeI?si=OxbeQpjWSDllYZIW
• The final 1–2 minute animation rendered at 1920 × 1080, 24 fps, supplied both as a high-quality MP4 and the editable source file (Toon Boom, TVPaint, Adobe Animate, or similar).
• Up to two revision passes on both the storyboard and the animated cut to fine-tune acting beats, pacing, and emotional clarity.
Essential guidelines:
– Cartoon style only—no realistic or abstract approaches.
– Clearly urban backdrop: think bustling streets, neon signage, subtle background traffic that complements (not distracts from) the leads.
– Visual storytelling must carry every emotion and plot point; body language, staging, color, and timing are key.
– Music and SFX can be temp placeholders if you don’t provide audio, but the animation should stand on its own visually.
If you’ve produced character-driven, dialogue-free short film before, I’d love to see them. Let me know your estimated turnaround and preferred software, and we can start right away.
