I’m working on a brand-new 2D battle royale and need a developer who can take the concept from rough idea to a playable build. The core loop is familiar—drop in, scavenge, survive—yet I’m aiming for a streamlined art style, quick matches, and tight controls that feel great on both desktop and mobile browsers.
Here’s what I’m looking for:
• A lightweight game engine setup (Godot, Unity 2D, Phaser, or similar) that compiles cleanly for WebGL/HTML5.
• Smooth character movement, hit detection, a shrinking safe zone, and simple AI bots for early testing.
• Basic lobby and matchmaking logic so multiple players can join a room and start a round without friction.
• Placeholder assets are fine for now; I mainly need the underlying systems solid and extensible.
• Clean, commented code plus a short read-me so I can iterate after hand-off.
If you have shipped or prototyped multiplayer 2D titles before, especially browser-based, I’d love to see a link or GIF. Let me know which engine you prefer, any networking libraries you’d lean on, and a realistic timeline for an MVP.
