Project overview
We are searching for Curriculum Specialists to develop and to plan U.S. middle and high school career elective courses in business, health sciences, and IT delivered online. We are an educational resource company that delivers digital curricula for Career & Technical Education courses (plus sciences, social sciences, and humanities) appropriate for students aged 11 to 18 years old. Using state and certification exam standards as the foundation for a course, a Curriculum Specialist plans the scope and sequence, table of contents, unit topics, pedagogical and assessment suggestions. The curriculum development team, consisting of unit and assessment writers and editors, uses this document - the Course Design Plan document - to create a course. A well-conceived Course Design Plan is fundamental to a successful learning experience. The ideal candidate – • Taught high school and/or middle school • Holds a B.Ed. or M.Ed. • Prior experience developing curriculum • Understands and can interpret standards • Creative thinker • Knowledge of instructional design and learning theory • Can conduct research in areas outside of expertise • Detail oriented • Meets deadlines • Knows word processing • Open to using digital collaboration tools We like to develop rewarding long-term partnerships. We look for individuals who can submit high quality work and adhere to schedules. Preference may be given to candidates who have high school or middle school teaching experience, and who have worked with course standards in some capacity. If your proposal is successful, you will be invited to audition by creating 3 units of content for a Course Design Plan. This project would be due 8 business days after assigned. *Note we pay a fixed rate for the audition only. We pay an hourly rate for our hired alignment specialists.
